It has been a long time since we have posted. So instead of trying to catch up on everything, we will just hit on some of the stuff we have been up to. Starting with the most recent.

Happy Valentines Day!! Kyle got to make Valentines for the first time this year, for preschool. He did an awesome job writing his classmates names and signing his own. He can't wait for Kindergarten next year!

On January 16th, Kyle turned 5. I decided not to do parties this year and we just had a family fun day at Chuck E. Cheese and dinner at Texas Roadhouse!

I just thought this was a cute picture, and this is currently my favorite dress of Paytons. She looks like a little Jackie Kennedy!!

PAYTON SLEEPING!!!

She is one funny little girl, she did not want to go to bed this night and we kept sending her back. Derek got up to go back to the bedroom and saw her asleep like this outside her room. She was good and asleep because we took a million pictures and she didn't even wake up when I carried her to her bed!

This was taken at nap time (hence the clothes) but this is how she normally sleeps every day and night. I guess it is comfortable for her!

Washington Trip/ Kyle Preschool

We made a trip to Washington for Derek's, stepbrother's wedding. We had a blast and the kids really enjoyed the wedding, which surprised me. They loved the dancing part and were very sad at 11:00pm when we said it was time to go.

Kyle and Payton actually really like dressing up for the wedding! I was excited about the "kodak moment" it made!!

While in Washington we made it out to the ZOO in Seattle and this was outside the new leopard exhibit, my own little leopards!!

So I am completely addicted to the "Twilight" books, I have read the entire saga twice. So naturally I made Derek drive me to Forks, WA (the setting of the book). Since the movie has been so popular as well, the town has really gotten into the spirit. Here is a sign outside of a gas station in Forks, it made me laugh! (Edward is the main male character in the book), for those of you who have not read these books yet!!

This was the beautiful scenery we had on our drive from Port Angeles to Forks, during our visit to Washington.

Kyle started preschool last week and he LOVES it!!! Every time we pull into the parking lot he starts to cheer. He only goes twice a week, which is perfect for him! This was his first day, and he did not mind me taking his picture, what a sweetheart!

My very cute little nephew, Jordan!!

The kids at the park, it was actually a little rainy and cloudy that day. Which made the 100 degree weather more bearable.

Payton did great swimming on her own, she was such a little fish. She even jumped in on her own!!

Kyle equally impressed me, since we only swim once a year I was so shocked at how quickly he took to the water. By the end of our trip he was diving his head under water.

Here are some of the kids cousins! Everyone had someone their age to play with, and boy did they play!

Nothing is better than swimming and blue bell ice cream!!

It took them a little time to warm up to each other, but next year I know they will be great playmates!!

"Best Buddies", We were just relieved that Kyle finally had someone to talk to, besides us!!Andrew didn't mind Kyle talking his head off he talked just as much, they were a great match!

Payton was such a great helper with her cousin, Jordan. She was in charge of keeping up with the pacifier.

First Baseball Game!!

Of course, the first baseball game for Kyle and Payton had to be between the Colorado Rockies and the Seattle Mariners!! Here is Derek and the kids in their Seattle gear ready for the game!!

The kids had their gloves and were ready to hopefully catch a fly ball, even though our seats were very far from the field!

It was a very long walk up to the third level, with Payton walking by herself, it took awhile just to make it to our seats!

We had some yummy peanuts to keep us busy during the game, here is Kyle licking his lips after devouring a peanut.

Payton had her Dora visor on but I was afraid the top of her head would get sunburned. Luckily, it was "free hat" game, obviously she was not about to replace her Dora visor for a Rockies hat, so she wore both!

We also snacked on some Red Vines and Payton was very generous in sharing hers!

In the 5th inning it started to rain, so we went and got some ice cream, then the tornado sirens went off. So they made everyone move to the main level for safety reasons. Here we are waiting out the storm, packed in like sardines!

Payton also kept busy coloring!

Next to the 7th Inning "Take me out to the Ball Game" song, Kyle loved the wave, and he did an awesome job at it!!

Mariners lost 1-7 but we just switched our Mariners hats for Rockies hats and still had a blast!!

The Last Week!

Last night we tried our first bike ride of the warm season. We didn't go far because Payton does not know how to steer, Derek and I got a little frustrated bending over to steer for her. They sure do look cute on their bikes!

Here is Payton and Jordan(her baby cousin) in the famous Texas Blue Bonnets!! We were going to pile up in the car and drive to find a nice patch and instead found one right behind Uncle Jeremy and Aunt Hillary's house!

Payton was helping sweet baby Jordan with his sunglasses, I am sure he really appreciated it, actually he was sound asleep and didn't know any differently!

After we took this picture we actually had to go get the cows some range cubes so they would leave us alone. Payton didn't mind she liked seeing the cows up close!

Payton loved helping feed the cows while we were in Texas. However, this cow is a little too close for comfort, I had no idea he had stuck his head over the fence. He will be in my freezer in a couple of months, yum!!!

Disney On Ice!!

Here we are getting ready to go! Payton has her princess shoes on and her diva sunglasses. Kyle insisted on wearing his Hulk shirt even though I told him that the Incredible Hulk would not be there.

The kids got these really cool little wrist bands that are part of "The Incredible" hero costumes so here is Kyle looking at his.

The Children's Museum

We were down in Denver and decided to check out the Children's museum. It was really fun and the kids had a great time. There was a lot to do!

Exhausted from playing all morning we decided to head to Cherry Creek Mall and get some hamburgers and fries at Johnny Rockets!

Payton's first ponytail!

I know this is probably a stupid thing to blog about. I am so excited that Payton's hair is finally long enough to put into a ponytail. Especially since we live in a place that is so dry and her hair normally is pinned to her face because of the static. It is great to see it out of her face! Small amusements, I know!

Every Princess needs a Castle!

However, she did not blow out her candles because she wasn't sure what to do. Of course, brother was there to help with that!

She ate every bit of the cake, unlike last year when she wouldn't even touch it.

Grandpa and Grandma Stone got to come from Texas to help celebrate Payton's birthday. The kids had a lot of fun playing with them!

We went as a family bowling here on base. Payton loved it and scored a pretty high number. I can't remember exactly what her final score was, but she gave us all a run for our money.

And her favorite part of the day was getting to open all the wonderful presents that she got!

Brother had fun on Payton's birthday as well, here he is spinning around!

We made Valentine's Day cards for Daddy today!!

The kids had a great time and did a really good job!

Payton got a little crazy with the glitter, but it wasn't anything that the vacuum couldn't pick up!

Monster Truck Show!!

Kyle and his Daddy went to the Monster Truck show yesterday! As you can tell Kyle loved it!

This was his favorite truck, called Bigfoot!! Kyle could not stop talking about it.

He also had lots of candy to enjoy during the show!

Princess Payton and Mommy stayed home and just relaxed!

Fun in the Snow!!

We had some good snowfall this weekend. Yesterday afternoon we all went out to play in it. Payton didn't really like leaving the comforts of the shoveled sidewalk. But I picked her up and put her in the snow. She wouldn't walk in the snow she just stood there and fussed.

She loves her hat!

Kyle gave Sammie some exercise trying to throw snow on him!

Contrary to the look on his face he actually really loved making snow angels!

Here is Payton just standing in the snow not moving! After a few minutes of being out in 8 degree weather we headed in for some nice Hot Chocolate!!

Kyle's Birthday!!!

For Kyle's birthday this year Grandma Pam and Auntie Carly got to come and celebrate, and we had a great time!

Our day started with Green (Incredible Hulk) pancakes, with M&Ms.

Then it was off to Chuck E. Cheese for lunch and playing fun games with Auntie Carly.

Payton even got to play a few games!!

We got some really cool little toys with all the tickets we collected.

The next day we had to get ready for Kyle's Transformer, bowling party!

Derek did a great job getting all the decorations set out before the birthday boy arrived!

We had hot dogs, corn dogs and grilled cheese and french fries for all my friends!

Then it was off to bowl!!

I got to hang with my best friends!

A Month!!

For me and the kids our Christmas travels began a couple weeks earlier than we had planned, due to the passing of my Grandpa Kesler. We are sad because we miss him but know that he is in the place he has longed to be "Home"! Being able to head to Texas a couple weeks early gave us some time to relax and enjoy ourselves!

We helped Nana Stone put up her Christmas tree, Kyle was the biggest help of all. Kyle got to ride his 4-wheeler and did an awesome job controlling it. He is not quite ready to be on it all by himself but he was in full control- speed racer!!

The only time Payton would let Grandpa Stone hold her was when he would bribe her with washing her hands, silly little girl! We enjoyed making Christmas cookies with Grandma Stone, and did not forget to have our ice cold cokes near by!

The kids looked so sharp in their Christmas outfits. The first picture was the Sunday before Christmas and the second picture was taken Christmas Eve!

On Christmas Day we went to Fort Worth to spend time with Jeremy, Hillary and Nana, Papa Stone. Kyle and Payton were quite the little helpers with wrapping paper. We enjoyed one last meal in Papa Keslers house, having his dining room table crammed with people around it is exactly what he loved!

The next day we jumped on a plane and headed for a little colder weather in Washington State. The kids did amazing during our 4 hour flight!! We were very blessed!

To Kyle's unbelievable excitement we had Christmas number two at Grandma Pam and Grandpa Randy's house!! Kyle did not know what to think about having a whole other Christmas and even more toys! Uncle Jason was a hero helping put together all of the transformer toys that Kyle got. Payton fell asleep before she could attack the gifts, but she had lots of fun opening them the next morning.

Kyle had so much fun with Auntie Carly. They threw snowballs at each other and got to decorate cookies! I must say they turned out pretty cool! Kyle got to enjoy a few of those before bed time! I snuck a few myself, it is the holidays!!

We put a little hair piece on Payton and she looked like a little "show baby"! Both Kyle and Payton enjoyed playing with their little auntie pugs, Annie, Mo, Tess and Abby!

We had a wonderful Christmas Vacation, a little exhasting, but a lot of fun and well worth it!

Christmas Fun!!!

Here is the Gingerbread house that Kyle and I made. It turned out really cute but the roof fell off just minutes after the picture. So Kyle ate a little bit of it and then we tossed it. Kyle had so much fun decorating the house that we defiantly got our moneys worth!

You can see on his face how excited he was to do this!!

WATCH OUT FOR WILD TURKEYS!!

In preparation for our Thanksgiving Feast we made these really fun turkey hats. I got the idea out of Family Fun magazine! The kids like running around saying, "gobble, gobble!". We are just staying home for Thanksgiving this year, just the four of us!! We are still having all of our traditional favorite foods!! In fact, as I write the house is filling up with the aroma of pumpkin pie!!

Halloween Fun!

We started our Family Halloween Fun on Thursday night by carving our pumpkin while watching "Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown"

Of course you can see who actually did all the work cleaning out and carving the pumpkin!

It still turned out great and was ready to light just in time for Halloween!!

On Halloween Day we got dressed up and went to the base clinic for some Trick or Treating, everyone gets into it and we got lots of candy.

Then after dinner we headed over to Will's house for more Trick or Treating and our Halloween party. Here is Kyle, Will, Jillian and Grace ready to go get some candy. Payton was not feeling up for pictures at this point!

Derek dressed up at a Mummy and when we told Kyle about it he said, "I have an idea mommy you can go as a daddy" It took him until Derek got dressed to realize that we were saying mummy not mommy!

This was our first Halloween in seven years that it did not snow, it was even nice outside. So the people came out. We even stopped by the General's house for some candy!

Then we went back to Will's house for some Halloween party fun. The kids went on a scavenger hunt and it ended with goody bags and pumpkins to carve!

Kyle loved drawing on his pumpkin and did a really good job at writing his name all over it!

Everyone had a great time decorating their pumpkins and they all turned out really cute!

Payton decided to take a rest, and a few minutes later decided it was time for bed! So we left sick to our stomachs with sweets and tired from all the fun we had!

Uncle Jason got the kids these cute PJs! Pink for Payton, of course! They are really fun and cute and they glow in the dark. It was really hard to keep the kids out of the bathroom they kept wanting to see their PJs light up!

Grandma Stone's Visit!

Grandma Stone came to visit while Daddy and Kyle were gone to Washington. So needless to say we had the ultimate "Girls Week"!! We went up to Estes Park where we had to stop at the famous Taffy Shop and buy Grandpa some Texas Pecan Taffy! Grandma, Mommy and I only had one piece each, there was still plenty left for Grandpa!
Great Picture of Mommy but like usual I did not feel like cooperating and even though I was having an awesome hair day I just did not want my picture taken. I wanted down!!
We did A LOT of walking while Grandma was here. I did not get to walk very often but if I cried long enough Grandma eventually let me get out of the stroller and walk a bit.
Here I am showing off the new sweat shirt Mommy got me on the sale rack of Baby Gap. It was a great deal and we were very excited about the price!

Not much has been happening lately, obviously the reason for no new posts. Today was the start of AWANAs, Kyle was so excited. He loves wearing his vest and he can't wait to get the stickers. He does such a great job memorizing the verses I am so proud of him.

I also added this picture of his cut on his head that he got from running around church after Daddy told him not to. We actually only spent an hour in the emergency room for them to put a nice looking staple in his head. He was so brave!

This picture I took the other night when Payton fell asleep in front of her door. I went to kiss her good night and I couldn't open the door because she was blocking it. You can see the door handle in the picture.

Oh, and I also added this cute picture of Payton because she is at a cutie pie stage. I am trying to enjoy it before she get to be to much of a toddler!!

Beautiful Wyoming!!

I know it sounds weird to have the word beautiful and Wyoming together, but we decided to take a nice hike today and it was beautiful. We went to Curt Gowdy State Park only 20 miles from our house. Kyle did a really good job keeping up with us! He enjoyed seeing the creek! Payton did a really great job hanging out in the backpack, there was a lot of stuff for her to look at. We enjoyed lunch by some hidden falls!

Christmas in August!!

So the camping trip that we have been planning and looking forward to for the last two months got cancelled. Even though Cheyenne has 360 days of sunshine a year this was the one weekend all year that it rained nonstop! It never rains here for more than an hour at a time, but this weekend it rained the entire time!! So how could we cheer ourselves up, nothing better than cuddling up on the couch with some homemade hot chocolate and watch the Polar Express (aka Kyle's favorite movie). He can actually quote the entire thing!! It defiantly lifted our spirits and after dancing to the "HOT CHOCOLATE" song we totally forgot about not getting to go camping! Maybe, next year we will make it out camping.

Family Fun Day!

We decided to take a day trip up to Estes Park. It turned out to be a fun adventure. We had to make a long stop in Loveland to change a very gross explosive diaper that included a change of clothes and a complete car seat clean out. Thank you very much Payton. Both kids were pretty good sports about the whole thing. Kyle sat quietly and Payton was just happy to finally be dry and clean. We finally made it up to Estes Park and took two steps and it started to rain. We quickly found a place to eat lunch and try to wait out the rain. It continued to rain so we took our chances, we didn't get too wet and the rain kept the kids entertained. As we were walking down the main street shopping my eyes caught a very familiar sign from Texas; it said "Bluebell Ice Cream". I just about wet my pants, my most favorite ice cream that I only get when we visit Texas was available right here in Colorado!! Even though we are on small diets Derek and I treated ourselves to a small scoop of Birthday Cake Ice Cream we shared with the kids so we really didn't go off the diet to bad!! It was heavenly!!! We had a great day and lots of fun!

Payton Update!

Payton has been successfully sleeping in her big girl bed now for a couple of nights. She adapted to it better than Kyle did. It only took about 30 min of us going in and putting her back in her bed before she got the idea that she needs to stay in bed. Now she is a pro! She is also walking everywhere and trying to run! It is really fun but kind of inconvenient when we are out in public and all she wants to do is walk by herself.

Frontier Days

This week we have been enjoying the festivities of Frontier Days. Grandma Pam and Uncle Jason came out to visit. We went to the Thunderbirds Airshow, rode rides at the carnival midway, and this morning we enjoyed the pancake breakfast. It has been a lot of fun!!
